Healthy Alternative to Coffee

First off I want to say hello, lots has been going on in the world since my last blog post. I want to share a drink that I make every morning. Now you can also make it, if you choose. So first off, I have had a love hate relationship with coffee since I was 16 years old. My first job... I worked at an amazing coffee house. Beautiful long wooden wrap around bar. Til this day I can remember all the specialty drinks. I love the smell of coffee, don't we all? Coffee and I were besties up til I turned 30ish. I started getting panic attacks. So I eased off it for a while. I would go back and forth with coffee. Coffee, no coffee, Coffee No Coffee. I enjoyed the ritual of going to a coffee shop and taking that first sip in the morning. What a rush. For a while I made my coffee at home, which I think made it difficult to stop. It almost became a meditation. Putting the grounds in the press pouring hot water. Picking a cute mug watching the cream and sugar swirl around in the dark liquid. You see I was hooked like many of us are. The highs then the lows. I finally made the switch to chai in my late 30's. This is my recipe of ingredients I like to use. This drink can be made Hot or cold.


Ingredients:


Califia Coconut/Almond milk

Cacao Powder

Reishi Extract

Coarse Himalayan Pink Rock Salt

Single orgin Heiloom Tumeric

Saigon Cinnamon

Garam Masala

Brown Sugar- You can use any substitute sweetener

Ice cubes

Coconut oil


There it is...What I usually do is I get a 1/4 teaspoon of coconut oil then gradually start adding spices and herbs etc. So it becomes a paste. Then I pour in the Coconut/Almond milk. You could make a beautiful dessert. Mix in some vanilla gelato. ENJOY.
